Nonprofit awards $800,000 to help Camden schools reopen

“Camden schools — public, charter and Renaissance schools — will get a boost to help prepare for reopening.

The nonprofit Camden Education Fund has awarded eight grants of $100,000 each to the Camden City School District, Camden’s Promise, LEAP Academy University Charter School, Hope Community Charter School, Freedom Prep Charter School, KIPP Cooper Norcross Academy, Mastery Schools of Camden and Uncommon Camden Prep.

The grants may be used to assist schools in educating students during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic by addressing a variety of needs.”
