Camden, NJ — The City of Camden celebrated more than 400 graduating seniors in the Salvation Army Kroc gym today, as part of the national College Signing Day movement.

The event, coordinated by the Camden Education Fund, was inspired by former First Lady Michelle Obama’s Reach Higher Initiative, which celebrates students furthering their education after high school, whether it be through college, trade school, or the military.

Underneath the celebratory atmosphere was a heartfelt message to the students.

“Whatever you do,” Camden County Commissioner Al Dyer told the students and their supporters, “make sure you come back to this city and give back.”

Many of the students present said they planned to do just that.
